Malaga Cathedral
It was built between 1528 and 1782 sadly was never finished not that you would be able to tell. It is said to be one of the best examples of the baroque-renaissance spanish architercture. Orginally built as a display of catholic power and was actually built on the mosque site that it replaced. Its real name is very long so its often shortened just to old malaga cathedral, how ever if you want to know its proper name here it is- Santa Iglesia Catedral de la Encarnacion.
Antigua casa de guardia
Said to be one of the oldest taverns in Malaga, founded in 1840. You get a choice of the different sweet wines they offer here, they also sell seafood here. There is no seats, there is only a couple of tables and can get very busy. But it is a must vist.
Centro de Arte Contemporaneo
This is a must vist for art enthusatist, often with exhibations of modern artists. It is also interesting based on an historical site. As you enter you will often see locals and children playing from the local flats. Check out the webiste for when its open as it changes seasonally and is usually free admission.
Alcazabza
Is the best preserved moorish fortress palace in Spain. It was built between 1057 and 1063. The name Alcazabza translated from Arabic means ( citadel). It was built at a time when the hammudid dynasty ruled Malaga, they were an Arab dynasty from Idrisid, which is why the palace has some Morrocain influence.
Paso del praque
Is a goregous park near the sea front on the way to Malaga's port. Many of the exotic trees, shrubs and flowers were brought over in the 19th century from over sea. Alot of them are said to come from Cuba. As Malaga at that time was hot spot for trading.
castillo de Gibralfarosits
The castle was built by Yusuf I in 1340 AD. Not only is there a castle on the mountainside but it is actually connected to the palace below. To improve defence, it was built to protect Malaga from being conquered. As the mountain was a weak spot where enemies could shoot the city below so that is why the castle/fortress became one of the most difficult fortresses to conquer. If you look closely you will see bullet holes in some walls.
